Sarah Allan works for the dry shipping department. She joined Bentleys in October 2005. Sarah studied law at the College of Law Guildford, having previously read Politics and Spanish at Exeter University. On completing her legal studies, she joined Thomas Cooper & Stibbard and qualified as a solicitor in August 2003. On qualification she joined Steamship P&I Club where she worked as a claims executive for two years dealing with primarily FD & D disputes before joining Bentleys. Having worked for the defence department in a P&I Club Sarah is accustomed to handling a broad range of charterparty and bills of lading disputes. She is now expanding her skills and experience in respect of High Court and arbitration practice. Sarah is also a qualified Yacht Master, which assists her when working on disputes requiring a knowledge of navigation, such as, for instance, safe port disputes. Sarah also speaks fluent Spanish having lived in both Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona. In her free time Sarah enjoys competitive sailboat racing and skiing. |
