Simon Wolsey joined Bentleys, Stokes and Lowless in September 1990 after graduating with an Honours degree in Law from the University of Warwick and completing the Law Society finals course at the College of Law at Chester. He became a partner in 2000.

He has acted in a wide range of matters connected with international trade and transportation including:-

 Advising on and handling litigation and arbitration arising out of charterparty and bill of lading
     contracts; including bad bunker, speed and consumption, implied indemnity, inter-club and
     demurrage and detention claims;

 Advising and acting on behalf of claimants and defendants in connection with cargo claims;

 High Court litigation and arbitration arising out of marine casualties;

 Advising on and drafting maritime and commercial contracts;

 Advising in connection with and conducting litigation in relation to MOA, ship repair/building
     contracts, contracts of affreightment, bareboat, towage contracts and insurance policies;

 Handling road/rail transport disputes pursuant to international conventions and standard terms and
     conditions;

 Advising and handling jurisdictional disputes and conducting arrests of vessels for security and
     enforcement proceedings in the UK and elsewhere;

 Sale of goods disputes, including GAFTA.

Simon has also lectured on subjects including the new Civil Procedure Rules and LMAA arbitrations.
