Carlo Sammarco qualified as a solicitor in 1997 having trained and spent his first couple of years in practice at a niche London shipping firm. Thereafter he joined another leading shipping firm at which he spent a further 3 years. Carlo eventually joined Bentleys in September 2006 after gaining further valuable experience working in the defence team with Skuld in Oslo.

He has wide ranging experience of international trade, marine insurance, general shipping (predominantly charterparty and bill of lading disputes) and particularly Club work which stems not only from his time in-house at Skuld but also whilst at the London Club working mainly with its Greek, South-east Asian and Italian members.

Carlo is a bilingual Italian speaker. His Italian roots means that he has an in bred passion for football and food and as a result his spare time is spent playing for and coaching a London Italian community football team and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
